Dr. Alicia MacDougall

Naturopathy

I’m a Naturopathic Doctor who helps athletes to optimize their health in order to promote performance, recovery, and longevity. I work with athletes, casual gym goers, and simply anyone that lives an active lifestyle get their health in check through natural means. As a lifelong athlete myself, I have gone through my fair share of health concerns and was forever searching for a healthcare professional that understood the athlete lifestyle and how managing an athlete’s healthcare is unique. I decided I wanted to be this health professional and help athletes, like myself, struggling to find someone with both the education & athletic experience to fully support and understand what an athlete needs.

I graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a degree in Kinesiology then went on to get my Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. While in school, I worked as a personal trainer and in the Western Exercise Nutrition Laboratory. My sporting career, started with hockey and soccer then took a forced shift after a few too many concussions. Over the past 8 years I have learned to love resistance training and have competed at the national level in both bodybuilding and powerlifting. Powerlifting is still my current passion and I am a strong believer that movement is one of the best forms of medicine that we have at our disposal.
